A thermal energy storage system is currently being installed for the ADORE Research & Diagnostic Centre. ADORE is by no means the first building to extract thermal energy from under the ground. In fact, many Zuidas buildings are already doing this. But how does this technology work?
The temporary dam placed in the pond in front of Kapel & Convict is to be removed. This is because it may take some time until these municipal monuments are given a new purpose.
The Kapel & Convict buildings in the Beatrixpark have protected monument status and we would like to gauge market interest in redeveloping them for a cultural and/or societal function. This is being done by means of a market consultation, taking place between 19 September and 14 October 2022.
We are working on the electricity grid on the northern side of Gustav Mahlerlaan. In the years ahead, several new buildings will be built in this area. In order to supply them with electricity, we are installing a 20kv loop system.
The City Council has approved the investment decision for OBA NEXT. This provides definite confirmation that OBA NEXT will be developed in Zuidas. Martin Berendse, Director of OBA (Amsterdam Public Library): ‘It will be a dynamic place, like a workshop buzzing with innovation.’
In the second half of 2022, the annex to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam music academy will be moving into the monumental buildings known as Kapel & Convict in Beatrixpark. The definitive design that will make this relocation possible is now complete.
