Monument is revenge served sweet

In 1943, a ‘quite difficult boy’ was expelled from the Ignatiuscollege Catholic school for insulting a teacher. That very same boy would ultimately go on to build an alternative for that school: the Sint-Nicolaaslyceum. Two monumental buildings in Zuidas bear testament to these past events.

OBA NEXT confirmed for Zuidas

The City Council has approved the investment decision for OBA NEXT. This provides definite confirmation that OBA NEXT will be developed in Zuidas. Martin Berendse, Director of OBA (Amsterdam Public Library): ‘It will be a dynamic place, like a workshop buzzing with innovation.’

Final design for Conservatorium in Beatrixpark takes shape

In the second half of 2022, the annex to the Conservatorium van Amsterdam music academy will be moving into the monumental buildings known as Kapel & Convict in Beatrixpark. The definitive design that will make this relocation possible is now complete.

Ideas wanted for green area between housing complexes

Close to Beatrixpark, two apartment buildings with a total of around 350 homes are being built in the next few years. The area between and around them will be given new green landscaping. Until 13 April 2021, you can contribute your ideas about the design online.

Tree-felling to make way for Conservatorium and De Puls

We are cutting down trees in two places in Zuidas. In order to provide space for the Conservatorium van Amsterdam music academy in Kapel & Convict, fifteen trees need to be felled. We will also be removing fifteen trees along the A10 in order to build De Puls.
