We are renovating the pedestrian path that leads along Boerenwetering, between Wielingenstraat and Strand Zuid and Beatrixpark. We have already made a number of improvements, and by autumn 2021, the path will be the perfect place for a stroll.
In September 2021, we will start work on creating a strip of green space in front of Hall 5 of the RAI building, along Wielingenstraat. The idea is to create a green buffer between Wielingenstraat and the logistics area of the RAI.
A permit has been granted for the Virtual Fountains artwork that will be erected in Europaplein-Oost. The work of art is part of the square’s new landscaping. The period for submitting objections runs until 16 April 2021.
In truth, the work on the pavement and cycle path around RAI metro and railway station is not particularly complicated. ‘But it’s actually the final part of the work being done in this area’, explains Project Manager Hanno de Groot.
‘A place where contemporary art, design, gastronomy, and cultural expressions merge perfectly.’ This is the kind of place the already iconic Nhow Amsterdam RAI hotel wants to be, as announced by the NH Hotel Group on 26 September 2018.
