Between 19.00 and 01.00 on the evening of Friday, 2 December, we will be working on the corner of Strawinskylaan and Beethovenstraat. Resurfacing work was recently completed here, but an inspection has revealed that the asphalt was not properly applied. We will now rectify the problem.
Starting on Friday, 11 November, we will be closing Beethovenstraat in a southerly direction during three consecutive weekends. This is in order to enable resurfacing work as part of the relandscaping of the area around WTC Tower Ten.
Wielingenstraat will be completely closed to vehicle traffic in both directions for two days, starting on Friday 4 November at 19.00. Waternet will be working on the sewers near Krammerstraat during that period. Cyclists and pedestrians will not experience any additional disruption.
A thermal storage heating system is set to be installed at the Strawinskyhuis in Prinses Irenestraat. You can expect some disruption in and around Prinses Irenestraat in the period from 24 October until no later than 15 December.
It’s a real inconvenience: Gustav Mahlerlaan is rudely interrupted by a tram line right next to Parnassusweg. In the period between 17 October and 2 December, we will be adding a new crossing to connect both halves of Gustav Mahlerlaan.
On Monday, 19 September 2022, we are embarking on major maintenance work in Wielingenstraat. This street, located next to the RAI, is being made safer and greener. Work on the street is expected to take a year.
From Friday, 2 September until Friday, 21 October 2022, there will be further traffic disruption and potentially also noise nuisance in Beethovenstraat, between Gustav Mahlerlaan and De Boelelaan. This is because of works in preparation for the new Ravel residential district.

The first plants in Valley’s vertical valley were planted a year ago. So, how is all this greenery developing? We joined the landscape gardener to take a look. ‘It will still take about another four or five years before it’s all fully grown.’
