In the weekend of 5-7 May 2023, there will be a diversion in the Minervapassage, the existing passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station. This passenger tunnel will be much taller and wider in the future, which is why we are now demolishing part of the existing roof.
On Wednesday, 12 April 2023, the concrete was poured for the fifth roof section of the new Brittenpassage. The logistics involved meant that there were numerous brief delays in Parnassusweg. Music and chocolate provided a welcome distraction during the waiting time.
Cyclists and pedestrians using Parnassusweg on 12 April 2023 will need to watch out. They can expect significant disruption next to Amsterdam Zuid station caused by trucks transporting concrete. During the morning rush hour, we also planned to inject a little fun into the process.
In April, we are continuing our work on the regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station. We will be inserting sheet piles into the ground and pouring concrete for the fifth roof section of the additional passenger tunnel, the Brittenpassage.

On Saturday, 4 March 2023, we will be removing a tree container in Zuidplein, next to Eduard van Beinumstraat. The removal of the tree earlier this week caused no noise disruption, but it now turns out that we will need to use a demolition hammer for several hours.
In the weekend of 18 and 19 March 2023, we will again be working on sheet piles between the metro tracks at Amsterdam Zuid station. The work was originally planned for late January and we are now playing catch-up.
On Saturday, 25 February, we will be removing a tree in Zuidplein, next to Eduard van Beinumstraat. This is necessary because we will be building the northern motorway tunnel here in the future. Before we can do that, we first need to ensure that the ground underneath is clear of obstacles.
Following Zuidasdok works carried out during the weekend of 11 and 12 February 2023, it has emerged that one of the metro tracks at Amsterdam Zuid station has suffered minor subsidence. As a precaution, the GVB has decided to close this track temporarily. A reduced metro service is running.
Preparation work has started on the construction of the fifth roof section for the new passenger tunnel at Amsterdam Zuid station, which will be called the Brittenpassage. We are currently working on the formwork, into which the concrete for the new section will be poured in the spring of 2023.
