On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, there will be a briefing on the redevelopment of the former ABN AMRO complex by its owner the Victory Group. You are welcome to join us at the Zuidas-Zuidasdok Information Centre from 17.00. It is not necessary to register in advance.
New developments in Kenniskwartier neighbourhood
With The Pulse of Amsterdam and Stepstone now completed, the east side of the Kenniskwartier neighbourhood has plenty of new housing and offices. Now it is time for the west side, where developments will include around 500 new homes.
Residential tower in Vivaldi neighbourhood under preparation
On the corner of Barbara Strozzilaan and Antonio Vivaldistraa, there is currently still a car park. There are plans to build a residential tower on the site, with a mixture of private and affordable housing. Before that can happen, we will need to revise the environmental plan.
Participation starts on ABN AMRO complex future plan
In the coming years, the ABN AMRO complex at Mahlerlaan 10 is to be (re-)developed into a lively and accessible area for housing, leisure and employment. This requires a change to the Environmental Plan ('Omgevingsplan') and the participation process about it will soon be starting.
Market consultation on Zuidas energy issue
New housing, offices and amenities are being developed in Zuidas at a rapid pace. This all requires electricity, but the network is at risk of becoming overwhelmed. In response, the City of Amsterdam is challenging the market to come up with solutions to the problem. Ideas can be submitted via Tenderned now.

The completion of The Pulse of Amsterdam is set to bring a major boost of dynamism to Zuidas. An energetic blend of housing, office accommodation, hospitality & catering and a cinema will bring a lot of vibrancy to the Kenniskwartier innovation district, at any time of day. ‘Ceci’, 25 apartments next to Stepstone
Alongside the 216 starter homes in Stepstone, Ceci is being built, a complex of 25 private sector apartments with a minimum size of 70 square metres. There will be commercial amenities on the ground floor. Ceci is scheduled for completion by the end of 2026.
The CubeHouse environmental permit open for consultation
For the development of CubeHouse, permission has been granted to deviate from the zoning plan currently in force. A permit was issued on 5 April 2023 and is now open for consultation for six weeks. The application for planning permission will now also be submitted swiftly.
Study into redevelopment of Meerparc office building
The City of Amsterdam and owner First Sponsor are initiating a study into possibilities for redeveloping the Meerparc office building in Amstelveenseweg. The two parties signed a letter of intent to this effect on 21 October 2022.
McDonald’s wins case against residents, battle continues
The legal battle over the setting up of a branch of McDonald’s underneath The Gustav housing complex has taken a new turn. The owner of the ground floor has won a legal case against the building’s residents. But that does not yet mean that the case is closed.
Nature-inclusive housing at Beatrixpark
Right next to Beatrixpark, KondorWessels Vastgoed is developing 94 homes. The residential building, named Habitat Royale, aims to provide good quality accommodation for all its residents: people, flora and fauna. Construction starts in the third quarter of 2024.
