Philips headquarters nears completion

The completion of PI59, in Prinses Irenestraat, is in sight. In less than two years, the contractor has transformed the building from a brutalist bunker to an ultramodern Philips headquarters. It is a truly amazing transformation.

2023: the year of shifting and digging

The broad contours of the second passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station became visible. The existing passageway was also renovated. Numerous construction projects were completed. We also put together a great summer party. All of that – and much more – was 2023 in Zuidas.

Ukrainian refugee accommodation delayed by three months

The accommodation of around 100 Ukrainian refugees in Kapel & Convict will not begin until April 2024, three months later than planned. Because the location is part of the so-called Main Green Space Infrastructure ('Hoofdgroenstructuur'), the renovation work required explicit approval from Amsterdam City Council.

Temporary landscaping of two plots in Kop Zuidas

The Kop Zuidas neighbourhood is almost complete. There are still two more plots to be developed, but work on them will not start until 2026 at the earliest. In the meantime, they are to be given attractive temporary landscaping. Do you have any suggestions on what it should look like?

Take a stroll through the future in our Information Centre

The Zuidas-Zuidasdok Information Centre has an amazing new public attraction. You can now take a stroll through the regenerated Amsterdam Zuid station. You can visit the tunnels and passageways, railway and metro platforms, the bus and tram station.

Crossover office and housing complex almost complete

The Zuidas Residents’ Platform, the umbrella organisation for residents and special interest groups, is closing down after 25 years. Minervabrug: bridge closed for three months for repairs

Starting on 3 April, the bridge for cyclists and pedestrians that connects Zuidas with the Zuid city district will be closed for a three-month period. The Minervabrug is in poor condition and will be repaired. Cyclists and pedestrians will be able to cross the Zuider Amstelkanaal in Beethovenstraat.

How do you build safely in a metropolitan area?

Space is required in order to build safely. But space is in short supply in the Zuidas area. Despite this, we are hoisting and lifting long and heavy objects on a daily basis, such as sheet piles, foundation piles and façade elements. So, how do we ensure that the public stays safe?
