In 2024, we made ourselves noticed more than ever
The year 2024 marked the start of the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer junction. The regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station continued at pace. In Zuidas, we also saw the development of a lot of new housing, offices and more.
Intensive underground building work at Park Meadows
Work on the construction of Park Meadows at the Beatrixpark started more than a year ago. There is little evidence of this above the surface, but below ground it is a very different story. The spectacular construction pit is the scene of much hard work on the foundations and underground car park of the two future residential towers.
Living and playing in Tic-Tac-Toe
In 2025, the heart of the future residential district, Ravel, will see the creation of Tic-Tac-Toe, a quirky, pink-coloured residential tower consisting of 75 medium-sector rental apartments. Family life, biodiversity, and the community – that’s what it’s all about.

In the Parnas neighbourhood, between Fred. Roeskestraat and Parnassusweg, much work is taking place behind the scenes. The renovation work on interior of the former court building is in full swing, and there are plans to build homes, offices, and a temporary sports hall. How are things progressing?
Park-like appeal for the Ravel residential area
The western section of the new Ravel residential district will be ready around 2030; this includes the public spaces. The chief public spaces designer Joost de Wit talks about the design, which is almost complete: ‘Ravel will be a place to live and enjoy.’
Stepstone social housing tower wins 2024 Zuiderkerk prize
The Stepstone building has won the annual Zuiderkerk prize, the award for housing construction projects in Amsterdam. The judging panel commended the 206 new affordable homes in Zuidas because their arrival ‘contributes to diversity in the area’.
Building the vibrant Ravel residential district
To the south of the AFC football club, you will see the Ravel residential district develop in the years ahead. In addition to amenities and offices, there will also be a lot of homes, for every budget. There will be no room for cars, but much more space for play, exercise and interaction.
21 November: walk-in meeting about ABN AMRO complex
On Thursday, 21 November 2024, you can contribute your ideas on one of the largest developments in Zuidas in the years ahead: the transformation of the ABN AMRO complex. You are welcome to join us at the former Circl pavilion from 17.00. Please register in advance.
Call for ideas on the development of the RAI site
In the years ahead, RAI Amsterdam intends to develop the area around the convention centre. The aim is to provide more space for green areas, housing and amenities. Would you like to contribute your ideas? If so, complete the (brief) online questionnaire by 8 December 2024.
Making room underground for Ravel housing
On 25 November 2024, we will start work moving cables and pipelines on the east side of Beethovenstraat. This is in order to create space to build The Harmony complex with 150 rented homes. There will be diversions in place for cyclists and pedestrians.
The Pulse of Amsterdam promises a vibrant experience for all
The completion of The Pulse of Amsterdam is set to bring a major boost of dynamism to Zuidas. An energetic blend of housing, office accommodation, hospitality & catering and a cinema will bring a lot of vibrancy to the Kenniskwartier innovation district, at any time of day. Work on Kapel & Convict for the temporary housing of refugees
On 18 September 2024, the city council decided that Kapel & Convict, the municipal listed buildings in Beatrixpark, may be used to house refugees from Ukraine for a period of five years.
