Student Experience extended by eleven months
Students will be able to stay for one additional academic year at Student Experience on De Boelegracht. The City of Amsterdam has extended the land lease agreement with the owner until 28 February 2028.
Definitive design approved for residential building Ceci
The definitive design for Ceci has been completed. The residential building will comprise 24 private sector apartments in the Kenniskwartier neighbourhood, ranging in size from 72 to 213 sq. m. Construction is expected to start in late summer 2026.
Meerparc set to be a lively place with housing
The First Sponsor Group and the City of Amsterdam have plans to make the Meerparc office building into a lively place, with housing, offices, commercial amenities and a lot of green areas. Their ideas for the plans were shared with the local neighbourhood on 14 January 2026.
Vertical maze of cables and pipelines in Ravel
In the new Ravel residential district over the last year, we have been working on an ingenious junction of cables and pipelines. The work involved digging alongside Beethovenstraat to a depth of around 5 m below street level. This not only caused disruption, but also produced some great pictures.
Kindercampus moves into brand-new building
During the 2025 Christmas holiday, the Kindercampus Zuidas is moving into brand-new accommodation at the heart of the Ravel residential district. The current building, 100 m to the east, will not remain unoccupied. The Willemsparkschool from Amsterdam Zuid is temporarily moving into it.
Environmental plan for 'Residential tower plot 4 Vivaldi' open for consultation
On the corner of Barbara Strozzilaan/Antonio Vivaldistraat, there are plans for a residential tower with housing in the affordable segment and private sector. From 4 December until 14 January 2026, the required changes to the environmental plan are open for consultation.
Construction work starts on Het Duet social and senior housing
In Fred. Roeskestraat on Thursday, 20 November 2025, foundation works will begin for the construction of Het Duet, two buildings with a total of 177 social rented homes and apartments for the elderly. The first residents are expected to be welcomed in mid-2027.
Works and disruption in Beethovenstraat and Ravellaan
We are making good progress preparing the area underground for the development of the new Ravel residential district, including by moving countless cables and pipelines. Traffic in De Boelelaan, de Ravellaan and Beethovenstraat can continue to expect disruption.
28 October: walk-in meeting about ABN AMRO complex
On Tuesday, 28 October 2025, there will be a briefing on the redevelopment of the former ABN AMRO complex by its owner the Victory Group. You are welcome to join us at the Zuidas-Zuidasdok Information Centre from 17.00. It is not necessary to register in advance.
New developments in Kenniskwartier neighbourhood
With The Pulse of Amsterdam and Stepstone now completed, the east side of the Kenniskwartier neighbourhood has plenty of new housing and offices. Now it is time for the west side, where developments will include around 500 new homes.
Residential tower in Vivaldi neighbourhood under preparation
On the corner of Barbara Strozzilaan and Antonio Vivaldistraa, there is currently still a car park. There are plans to build a residential tower on the site, with a mixture of private and affordable housing. Before that can happen, we will need to revise the environmental plan.
Further progress made in preparing Het Duet plot for construction
We are in the process of preparing Het Duet housing complex for construction. This will involve cutting down some trees and removing underground cables and pipelines. Most of the felled trees will be replaced on the plot itself, when Het Duet has been completed.
