Zuidas is working on plans for the Verdi neighbourhood, part of which includes the northern zone of IJsbaanpad. This is being given a new use. From 9 November 2023, the draft zoning plan that will make this development possible is open for consultation.
The relocation of the Sporthallen Zuid sports complex will not be happening after all. The complex will be refurbished and extended on its current site, as the 2023 Spring Memorandum (‘Voorjaarsnota 2023’) reveals. This puts an end to the planned construction of 550 homes in that area.
Around 18 months after construction started, Tripolis-Park is now gradually nearing completion. On the outside, the final sections of the new sustainable façade are being added to the former towers. Inside, the contractor is working on the finishing details.
The plans for the construction of 500 to 600 homes on the current site of the Sporthallen Zuid sports complex have been modified. This is because of a change in the schedule for the new accommodation for the Sporthallen Zuid.

On 31 March 2021, the City of Amsterdam adopted the investment plan for the second sub-section of the Verdi neighbourhood. A new residential area will be created on the site of Sporthallen Zuid, and the sports facilities will be moved to a new multi-storey structure.
