Work on A10 viaduct set to close Amstelveenseweg for five weeks
From 12 July until 20 August 2025, we will be closing Amstelveenseweg to motorised traffic underneath the A10 Zuid. It is the first of three summers when we will be working on the viaduct as part of the widening of the A10 Zuid. The work is set to cause significant disruption.
A4 closed in direction of Amsterdam and Zaanstad for two weekends
From 14-17 March and from 21-24 March, there will be major traffic disruption on the south side of Amsterdam. The A4 will be closed to all traffic travelling in the direction of Amsterdam, between the Badhoevedorp and De Nieuwe Meer junctions. Please allow up to one hour extra for your journey.
Record traffic jams in 2024 – avoid rush hour
The A10 Zuid is a notorious traffic bottleneck. We are working hard to make the road safer while also improving traffic flow. But these works are set to last for a while and also create additional traffic disruption, including at peak periods. Hence the advice: avoid rush hour.
Sheet piling for new flyover at De Nieuwe Meer junction
At 21.00 on Friday, 31 January 2025, two weekends of work on the widening of the A10 Zuid are set to start. At the De Nieuwe Meer junction, there are plans for a new flyover in the direction of Schiphol/Rotterdam. We are now making preparations for that.
3-14 February: diversion for cyclists in Amstelveenseweg
From 3 February 2025, the cycle path on the west side of Amstelveenseweg next to the A10 Zuid will be closed for a fortnight. We are making space for the planned widening of the A10 Zuid. Cyclists will be diverted via Piet Kranenbergpad.
Weekend work went well, despite traffic congestion
We can look back on a successful weekend packed full of work at the De Nieuwe Meer junction. However, the closure of the road connecting the A10 Zuid to the A4 did cause significant traffic congestion, including in the city.
Road connecting A10 to A4/Schiphol closed for three weekends
In the weekends of Friday, 29/11, Friday, 6/12 and Friday, 13/12, the road connecting the A10 Zuid to the A4 Schiphol/Rotterdam will be closed. Please allow up to half an hour extra for your journey, both on the orbital ring road and in the city.
Bicycle racks in Parnassusweg removed temporarily
Starting on Wednesday, 13 November 2023, bicycle racks and bicycles will be removed from several places in Parnassusweg. This is necessary in order to make preparations for the A10 Zuid tunnel.
Successful weekend ends on disappointing note
This weekend, we successfully inserted 1,905.75 metres of sheet piling into the ground at different locations along the A10 Zuid. But there was one sour note: because of damage to the road surface, traffic coming from the A4 will be disrupted for several days.
Traffic disruption due to lane closure after weekend roadworks
During the roadworks last weekend, part of the A10 subsided while the sheet piling was being put in place. As a result, from Monday morning, one lane will be closed from the A4 Schiphol to the A10 Zuid in the direction of Hengelo/Utrecht.
20-23 Sept: A10 Zuid closed in the direction of Utrecht/Hengelo
From the evening of Friday 20 September until the morning of Monday 23 September 2024, the A10 Zuid will be closed in the direction of Hengelo/Utrecht. Please allow up to one hour extra for your journey. We will be inserting sheet piling into the ground at the De Nieuwe Meer junction.
A10 Zuid closed in the direction of Schiphol tonight
From 22.00 on 12 August, the A10 Zuid will be closed in the direction of A4 Schiphol/Rotterdam because of works at Amsterdam Zuid station and on Europaboulevard. Traffic will be diverted via the A9. The road will reopen at 05.00 on Tuesday, 13 August.
