Reminder: A4 and A10 Zuid closed for eight days in August 2023

From Saturday, 5 August until the morning of Monday, 14 August, there will be major traffic disruption on the south side of Amsterdam. For an eight-day period, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed from the Badhoevedorp interchange to the S109 RAI exit because of work on Amsterdam Zuid station.

Replacement of Rozenoordbrug to be part of Zuidasdok project

The replacement of the southern Rozenoordbrug on the A10 Zuid will be part of the reconstruction of the Amstel interchange, one of the Zuidasdok projects. ‘The city of Amsterdam is developing. We need to be sure we have the capacity to keep pace with it.’

1 July: installing sheet piles at Amsterdam Zuid station

In the last week of June 2023, we had to halt sheet piling work west of Amsterdam Zuid station due to the instability of the metro track. We will complete the work on Saturday 1 July, after which we will repair the track.

A10 Zuid to get slight bend after summer works

Between 5 and 14 August 2023, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed for a period of eight days. After that, we will build the A10 back with a small ‘meander’ slightly to the south. This will create space to widen the most southerly railway platform at Amsterdam Zuid station.

Zuidasdok report on the second half of 2022

On 27 July 2023, Amsterdam City Council and the Dutch House of Representatives were updated on progress on the Zuidasdok project in the second half of 2022. The report provides a valuable insight into the status of the work at the end of 2022.

Zuidasdok Routing Decision changes approved

On 22 June 2023, Mark Harbers, Minister of Infrastructure and Water Management approved the 2023 changes to the Zuidasdok Routing Decision (‘Tracébesluit Zuidasdok (wijziging 2023)’). This involves an amendment to the routing decision originally agreed in 2016. The relevant documents are available for viewing from 23 June until 3 August 2023.

3 July: meeting to discuss works in Prinses Irenebuurt area

A lot of construction work is taking place between Amsterdam Zuid station and Prinses Irenestraat. In the upcoming period, there will also be works in and around the station. On 3 July 2023, we are organising a walk-in meeting at the Thomaskerk to update you on what is happening.

The architectural vision behind Zuidasdok

On National Architecture Day (‘Dag van de Architectuur’), we will be focusing on our own area. Rather than singling out one of Zuidas’ acclaimed buildings, we will take a look at the infrastructure. What is the architectural vision behind Zuidasdok?

Concrete pouring for sixth roof section for station passageway

Between the metro tracks, we are hard at work on the sixth section of the roof for the additional station passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. On 20 June 2023, we will be pouring the concrete. After that, we have one further roof section for the new passageway to go.

Summer work on Brittenpassage and Parnassusweg

Zuidas is much less busy during the summer. But, for us, this is actually a reason to continue working hard, including on the construction of the additional passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station: the Brittenpassage. Here’s an overview of our plans up to October 2023.

Part of new roof Minervapassage now in place

During the night of 9-10 June 2023, we moved the first roof section for the existing passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station around 114 m to the east. The huge sheet of concrete is now well and truly in position. We take a look back at the process.

12 June: station entrance in Parnassusweg closed for 13 weeks

From 12 June until early September 2023, the station entrance in Parnassusweg will be closed. During that period, we will be removing underground pipelines just in front of the entrance. It will still be possible to access Amsterdam Zuid station via the entrances in Zuidplein and Mahlerplein.
