Work resumes on The Art Bridge across De Boelegracht

Sharp-eyed locals will have already spotted it: after some delay, work on The Art Bridge (‘De Kunstbrug’) across De Boelegracht has resumed. Additional investigations while preparing the foundations led to some delay, postponing the completion date until May 2024.

Zuidas Market is here to stay

Following a successful 18-month trial period, there’s good news: Zuidas Market is here to stay. From 9.00 until 17.00 every Thursday, Gershwinplein is the place to go for your groceries and delicatessen. Or simply to enjoy the atmosphere and have a chat.

Greenery, art bridge and restructuring work in central De Boelelaan

In April, we held an information meeting about the restructuring work in the central section of De Boelelaan. The meeting focused on the draft design for the green section, the building of the art bridge and the new infrastructure. We promised to report on what was discussed.

Plan for Art Bridge across De Boelegracht open for consultation

It has taken a while, but the plan for the new Art Bridge (‘De Kunstbrug’) across De Boelegracht is now open for consultation. A briefing for local residents about the design was held on 12 April 2022. Interested parties now have until 14 May 2022 to submit their opinions.

Meeting about redevelopment of central section of De Boelelaan

The central section of De Boelelaan, between Beethovenstraat and Parnassusweg, is being redeveloped, adding a new green section and bringing changes to the traffic situation. A meeting about it is being held on Tuesday, 12 April 2022, both in person (fully subscribed) and online.

Zuidas market opens on Thursday 2 September

A weekly market in Zuidas will be held for the first time on Thursday 2 September. There will be 16 market stalls on Gershwinplein to begin with, offering mainly food products. Amsterdam Zuid district council will examine whether the market is a success after 18 months.

From 2 September 2021, Thursday will be market day in Zuidas. Up to thirty market stalls, with a focus on food, will then be offering their fresh produce in Gershwinplein. The market will run for an initial 18-month trial period.

New stair seating and widening of De Boelegracht

From the old BAM construction site, we are building a new canal wall and stairs that double up as seating for De Boelegracht, near Rosy Wertheimstraat. By working in this way, we are limiting the disruption caused by construction traffic.

Residents of The Gustav are refusing to accept the McDonald’s branch set to open in the commercial space (ground floor) of the apartment complex. The owner of the commercial space is taking legal action against the residents. The case recently came to court.
