Open day in Zuidas on 30 October

Building a new station for 250 passengers per day on a site the size of a postage stamp. Building housing for everyone. Making a neighbourhood greener. How do you do all of that? To find the answers to these and other questions, come along to the Open Day in Zuidas on 30 October 2021.

Everyone’s welcome in the Crossover building

The CROSSOVER building, currently under construction in the Kop Zuidas neighbourhood, will feature a special mixture of residents and users. It will have space for residence permit-holders, first-timers and businesses. The focus will be on friendships, working together and knowledge-sharing.

Housing, offices and amenities around a courtyard garden. This is what is planned for the area between The Edge (offices of Deloitte and AKD) and The Pulse (now under construction). This is according to the new development plan drawn up for this area.

Zuidas launches the 'green walk'

A lot of hard work gets done in Zuidas, and not just in the office blocks. In fact, you’ll come across the smallest workers if you try out the green walk, which we launched on 30 September 2021. The walk will also bring you to artworks created by Vera van Wolferen, which you might not otherwise have spotted.

6 October: meeting about site formerly occupied by British School

The British School has now left Fred. Roeskestraat. The vacant building will now make way for about 150 to 200 social rental homes. On 6 October 2021 at 19.30, we are holding an online meeting to update you on progress.

City Council votes to approve museum in former courthouse

In Parnassusweg, the development of the museum for contemporary art in the former courthouse building (part of which has protected monument status) is now a step closer. The City Council voted to purchase the building on 15 September 2021.

New sports park and AFC club building officially opened

Goed Genoeg, the new public sports park, and the new AFC clubhouse were officially inaugurated on Saturday 4 September 2021. The sports fields have been moved slightly to the north to make room for new houses in the residential district of Ravel.

Zuidas market opens on Thursday 2 September

A weekly market in Zuidas will be held for the first time on Thursday 2 September. There will be 16 market stalls on Gershwinplein to begin with, offering mainly food products. Amsterdam Zuid district council will examine whether the market is a success after 18 months.

Museum of Contemporary Art in the old court house building

There are plans for a new art gallery in the old court house on Parnassusweg, so Zuidas could soon be home to another cultural hotspot.

New football pitches for SC Buitenveldert

Three new artificial grass pitches have been laid at SC Buitenveldert football club this summer. The club is located between Mahlerlaan and De Boelelaan, and its old pitches were worn out. ‘We’ll be able to use these new pitches for many years to come’, said board member Paul Rijnierse.

Sneak preview of the new VU Rialto Cinema during World Cinema Amsterdam film festival
