In the future, the former courthouse in Parnassusweg will be home to a museum. The contractor will begin the initial works on it this month: stripping the interior in the part of the building that has protected monument status.

We’ve been following the construction of the largest courthouse in the country closely for nearly four years now. The project started by clearing away the rubble of what was there before and will end on Monday 3 May 2021 with the first court proceedings. At a height of around 5 metres, the artwork ‘Love or Generosity’ by Nicole Eisenman is difficult to miss. The statue is in front of the new courthouse, on a square that will be accessible to everyone from mid-December 2020.
Now that most of the scaffolding inside the new courthouse has been removed, it is finally possible to see what the NACH construction consortium and the court had always envisaged: a prominent, recognisable, authoritative and functional building, with some surprising elements.
