Where in Zuidas
The new pharmacy can be found on Gustav Mahlerlaan 635-B in the Summertime building. Summertime’s architect, SeARCH, also created the design for the pharmacy using the same colours and atmosphere as the rest of the building. The pharmacy is an initiative of Marjan Terpstra and Daan Jansen, who developed a modern healthcare concept in collaboration with other healthcare providers that has now been established in Zuidas. ‘We wanted to respond to trends and set up a modern concept in line with the wishes of residents and employees/employers in the Zuidas,’ explains Jansen.
Shorter queues
‘In a traditional pharmacy, customers often have to wait in line for quite a while, which can be irritating. There is little privacy and quiet to ask for advice because everyone behind you can listen in. At the same time, you want to be able to pick up your medication quickly when it’s a repeat prescription, without having to wait in line,’ adds Jansen. The Zuidas pharmacy wants to solve this by separating this customer group from the others. ‘We designed a pickup desk especially for people with repeat prescriptions, who don’t need advice.’
Safe deposit boxes
Safe deposit boxes will be installed in the hall of the Summertime building in mid-October. These can be used to store medication and other (care) products, which the customer can pick up using a personal code delivered by text message. This way, waiting in line can also be avoided. The safe deposit boxes can also be used to deliver groceries or parcels for Summertime residents. ‘At the same time, we want to offer the people who do need advice sufficient time and attention. By serving more people in a different way, we create more privacy and quiet for customers who need more time.’ The pharmacy also includes consultation rooms for extra privacy. ‘With this fast/slow concept, we really hope to respond to the needs of people who live and work in Zuidas and offer everyone healthcare service matching his or her requirements.’
Medical disciplines on site
In order to help people optimally, Jansen and Terpstra brought in a variety of medical disciplines, including a general practitioner, vaccination station, laboratory, and several specialists including physiotherapy, dermatology, gynaecology, and orthopaedics.
Opening hours
