The road between Crossover and The Newton is currently being used for the delivery and removal of construction materials. Between 12 and 23 December, we will be removing this construction road in order to begin work landscaping the public area around the residential buildings. This will start with paving work on the pavements and traffic lane where the demolished construction road was. Construction traffic will temporarily run via Gaasterlandstraat. When the work has been completed in May 2023, Gelrestraat will suddenly be tens of metres longer, enabling construction traffic to use this route again.
Green strip
In February 2023, we will begin to put in place the water-retardant green strips and plant trees and shrubs, as we gradually work towards the front square – the green entrance to the neighbourhood between Crossover and Terrace Tower. The newly re-landscaped public space around Crossover and The Newton will be completed in October 2023.
Hogelandplein
We are already hard at work with contractor Rots preparing for the development of the new Hogelandplein. We have made significant progress with the contractor in recent times, but the start and completion date are still not known.
Kop Zuidas
Kop Zuidas is located on the eastern edge of Zuidas. The area between Europaboulevard, the A10, Zorgvlied cemetery and the Zuidelijke Wandelweg, is developing into a neighbourhood where people can both live and work. In 2023, the neighbourhood will see the addition of around 230 new homes with the completion of Crossover (before the summer of 2023) and The Newton (end of 2023). In the meantime, we are working on the completion of Hogelandplein and a green gateway that will be a short distance away. The demolition of the Old School building will also create room for housing and a park.
