Dutch Building Day 2022

Dutch Building Day 2022

Saturday 18 June is Dutch Building Day. Take a unique look behind the scenes in Zuidas, Amsterdam’s new centre! It’s the perfect opportunity to get to know this dynamic area where working, housing and living come together. Start the day in Gustav Mahlerplein, right next to Amsterdam Zuid station and embark on a journey of discovery. An electric train will escort you to places that are normally off-limits. For example, you can take a look at the construction of the new station passageway and find out why the A10 will soon be disappearing underground here. Take a peek underground on construction sites or visit the multifunctional Crossover building and view Zuidas from a great height.

From 10.00 until 16.00, there are countless activities and guided tours across Amsterdam Zuidas.

Zuidasdok in 30 minutes

It’s gigantic and almost unimaginable. That’s Zuidasdok: the widening and undertunnelling of the A10 Zuid and construction of a new Amsterdam Zuid station. In Circl, experts will tell you all about this amazing endeavour. And what you can expect to see from mid-July.
Location: CIRCL pavilion, Mahlerplein

A hole in the A10

Starting on 22 July, the A10 Zuid will be closing for 11 days. Next to the station, we’re digging a 100 m long hole. Why? Join us and listen to the people from the Nieuw-Zuid construction consortium tell you all about it (and come back at the end of July to see the hole!).

Where is the metro going?

Starting on 16 July, metro 52 (the North/South line) will not be stopping at Amsterdam Zuid station for a whole week. Contractor Heijmans is moving the whole of the platform in the direction of Beethovenstraat. Why? And how exactly? We’ll tell you all about it on the site.
Location: Parnassusweg viaduct (work site 2)
Duration: 30 minutes

Cycle ride: Tangled up on the A10

Hogelandplein, what’s it going to look like?

In a somewhat hidden corner of Zuidas, a beautiful neighbourhood called Kop Zuidas is being developed. Of course, this kind of neighbourhood needs a place where people can meet up. This is why we’re creating Hogelandplein. An amazing playground for children, while adults can enjoy a chat on one of the benches. Our own designer will talk about his idea behind the plan.
