Habitat Royale

The residential building Habitat Royale will be in the Beethoven neighbourhood. It will boast 94 owner-occupied apartments in the upmarket segment, a crèche, an orangery and hospitality. The building features a remarkable organic, nature-inclusive design and is particularly sustainable. Construction is expected to start in the third quarter of 2024. Completion will be at the end of 2026.

Interconnected towers

There will be six apartment types, spread across four interconnected towers of up to eight floors. The main central entrance will be on Beethovenplein and lead directly to the lobby. The lobby leads to the atrium, a crèche and an orangery with exhibition area as well as a small terrace. There will be gardens on the roofs. Under the building, there will be an underground car park and bicycle park.

Connection with the park

The building will have a visible connection with the park and feel like an addition to the landscape. Green landscaping, both around and on the building itself, will deliberately encourage biodiversity. It is set to be a sculptural building that extends out from the four parts of the building, providing a healthy living environment for residents and for flora and fauna.

Biodiversity

Habitat Royale is a ‘biodiverse net gain’ building: adding more biodiversity than it removes. It is also a CO2 negative building: it stores more CO2 than it emits. In addition, the building generates twice as much energy as it consumes. Compared to the current situation, it will also have a more diverse and connected landscape, with more places for animals to hide, nest and forage.
