- Zuidas applies for general water permit Starting in 2024, Zuidas intends to begin working with a general permit (‘koepelvergunning’) to cover all works related to water. This general permit will make it possible to gain permission for a large number of water-related works in the whole of the Zuidas area all at once.
- Works in old courthouse for upcoming museum In the future, the former courthouse in Parnassusweg will be home to a museum. The contractor will begin the initial works on it this month: stripping the interior in the part of the building that has protected monument status.
- Anti-graffiti tests for Amsterdam Zuid station We have conducted tests to identify which coating and which removal product will be most effective in combating graffiti at the new Amsterdam Zuid station. We have found a product that most effectively meets our requirements.
- Changes to emergency department entrance in Amstelveenseweg postponed Most of the planned works on the entrance to the emergency department at UMC, location VUmc, have now been postponed until after the winter of 2023. The forecast of wet weather means that there is too great a risk of delays and major traffic disruption on the busy Amstelveenseweg.
- 15 November: meeting on regeneration of Amstel interchange On 15 November 2023, we are organising two walk-in meetings at the Zuid City Office for residents, businesses and others stakeholders interested in the future regeneration of the Amstel interchange by Zuidasdok. You are warmly welcome to attend.
- Two nights of lifting work in Parnassusweg In the two nights from Monday 30 October to Wednesday, 1 November, we will be working on the metro viaduct above Parnassusweg. We are doing this at night for safety reasons.
- Safer access to emergency department at Amsterdam UMC-VUmc location From 3 to 5 November 2023, Amstelveenseweg will be closed in the Amstelveen direction between De Boelelaan and Van Nijenrodeweg. We are making changes to the entrance to the emergency department at Amsterdam UMC-VUmc location in order to improve traffic safety.
- Social (senior citizens’) housing in Fred. Roeskestraat On the former site of the British School of Amsterdam, housing association Eigen Haard is set to develop two separate buildings that will provide both social housing and homes for the elderly. An information evening was held on 28 September to update the local neighbourhood.
- Sheet piling work in Van Beinumstraat postponed Today was supposed to see the start of work installing sheet piling into the ground in Eduard van Beinumstraat. However, these works have now been postponed until further notice as a result of a setback.
