We will no longer be posting or replying on X. For now, we will however continue to monitor what is being said about us on other X accounts.
The prospect of our leaving X has been under discussion for some time now. We stayed on it, because we are keen to keep as many people as possible informed about the work we do. We also refused to run away from (fierce) criticism or untrue statements. But a boundary has been passed. X has become a platform that thrives on conflict and spreading lies. This is at odds with the social values that we stand for.
In doing this, we are following in the footsteps of some of our partners. In July 2024, Amsterdam reported that it had stopped responding on X, ‘because of the many expressions of hate’. Several months earlier, in April 2024, GVB left the platform. In December 2024, ProRail announced that it was done with X.
Meta
We will however remain active on Facebook, Instagram, Threads and WhatsApp, all of which are owned by Meta. We will be closely monitoring developments on the Meta platforms. Our presence on LinkedIn is not in question.
Information Centre
Of course, other opportunities remain for finding out about what we are doing, asking questions about it or expressing your opinions. That includes this website. Underneath all of the articles, you are free (within the limits of the law) to ask questions and write what you think. You are also warmly welcome at the Zuidas-Zuidasdok Information Centre, where we can talk to you in person. You can also telephone us (0800-5065) and ask us questions via our contact form, share an idea or opinion, request a group visit and submit a (damage) report or complaint.
