Cultural events are part and parcel of a vibrant Zuidas. This is why, in 2023, we launched a new subsidy scheme to give a helping hand to organisers of these kinds of events. The annual budget is €150,000 with a maximum of €50,000 per application – last year, all of the subsidy funding available was allocated to different events.

If you submit your application using the City of Amsterdam website, there is still budget available for 2025.

From small-scale to medium-sized

The possibilities are wide-ranging: from performances to art routes and from music festivals to architectural guided tours – as long as it involves a cultural event. This applies to small-scale events (no more than 500 visitors per day) and medium-sized events (no more than 2,000 visitors per day).

Apply all-year round

It is possible to apply for the subsidy all year-round using the form on our website. When applications are received, a committee will draw up a recommendation as quickly as possible and this will be followed by a decision about the application. This means that there is no need for a long delay between applying and organising an event. At the same time, Zuidas benefits by being enriched by new and exciting cultural events.

Storyteller concert in Rosy Wertheimstraat

Thanks to the subsidy scheme, home owners from The Gustav organised a free ‘storytelling concert’ in Rosy Wertheimstraat on Saturday, 14 June 2025. Over the course of an hour, a storyteller, an oboist and a pianist took more than 80 attendees on a journey through the life of Rosy Wertheim. The response was enthusiastic: ‘I really enjoyed this wonderful concert. Thanks so much for organising it.’ Another attendee: ‘We were highly impressed by this afternoon’s concert and, as I said: really pleased with this initiative. I’ve been hoping for years for a real sense of community to develop in Zuidas and events like this can really help to make that happen.’
