The Zuidas Sustainability award is a joint initiative of Green Business Club Zuidas, Hello Zuidas and the City of Amsterdam. Every year, the organisers present awards to projects with the greatest impact in terms of further improving the sustainability of Zuidas.
Seven categories
The jury will assess entries across seven categories: Mobility & Logistics, Water & Green Space, Circular Economy, Buildings, Food Transition, Society & Economy and Energy. Awards were also presented last November, although entries were then assessed across six different categories.
Assessment criteria
The jury will evaluate each entry against a range of assessment criteria. Among other things, they will consider the project’s environmental and social impact. Does it help connect people? Which sustainability themes does the initiative touch on? How does it contribute to the social themes in Zuidas? The jury will also look at the project’s visibility and potential for application. How eye-catching is the project? Which target groups can it inspire within Zuidas? Is there potential for interesting partnerships and alliances? And to what extent is the project’s sustainability scalable to other projects?
Judging panel
The independent judging panel chaired by Yvette Watson (PHI Factory) will judge the entries. Other panel members include Ruth Jansen (Zuidas Today talk show host), Maurits Groen (communications consultant, environmental activist and entrepreneur), Margreet van Gastel (member of the Green Business Club Nederland Advisory Council), Louise van Koppen (Senior Consultant at ACE) and Wietse Walinga (Director of the Sustainable Built Environment Knowledge Platform).
Public Award
In addition to the Zuidas Sustainability Award, all entries will also be eligible for the Public Award. Cast your vote for your favourite initiative – it could become this year’s winner.
