Cultural events are an essential part of a vibrant Zuidas. To help organisers get these kinds of events off the ground, we introduced a new subsidy scheme in 2023. More than half of the total annual budget for 2026 is still available – around €70,000 of the €150,000 budget. So make sure you apply for funding for your event soon.

Once an application is received, a committee will issue its recommendation as quickly as possible, followed by a decision. This keeps the time between applying and organising an event short, while bringing new and exciting cultural events to Zuidas.

Small to medium-sized

The possibilities are wide-ranging: from performances and art trails to music festivals and architecture tours – as long as it is a cultural event. The scheme is for small-scale events (up to 500 visitors per day) and medium-sized events (up to 2,000 visitors per day).

What did you organise in 2025?

Last year, Grachtenfestival Amsterdam, Grachtenfestival Zuidas, Cinema at the Zuidas, ZERO BPM at ADE and Art Zuid Biennale were all awarded funding. There were also smaller, more intimate initiatives, such as the free ‘storytelling concert’ in Rosy Wertheimstraat.

What can I apply for funding for? (examples)

* Visual arts events, art trails, art exhibitions, open studio trails and temporary art projects
* Performances
* Concerts and music festivals
* Theatre festivals
* Film festivals

All applications must meet these criteria: the activities must be of a high artistic standard; the location of the event in Zuidas, indoors or outdoors, must be open to the public; and the applicant must provide a convincing communications plan for Zuidas residents and visitors.
