Where can you cool off in Zuidas?

There is plenty of green space in Zuidas where you can escape some of Amsterdam’s hottest spots, including the new temporary park in the Kenniskwartier neighbourhood. But when temperatures rise above 30°C, few things are more refreshing than taking a dip. Around De Nieuwe Meer, you’ll find three official outdoor swimming locations. Before diving in, be sure to check the current water quality to make sure it is safe for swimming.

Under normal circumstances, younger children can enjoy the children’s paddling pool in Beatrixpark. However, it is currently undergoing a complete refurbishment. The works include new seating and paving, a concrete canopy beside the water and an entirely new paddling pool. A new technical plant room with modern water treatment systems is also being installed, ensuring the paddling pool meets the latest hygiene and safety standards. The refurbishment is scheduled to be completed in September this year.
