Creating the Commons examines the co-creation of art and science. Under the generic term Open Science the academic community is aiming for greater transparency and broader accessibility. In the arts, too, artists are increasingly producing community based art. Ideals such as equality, collective interest and sustainability are central to these developments. The Streets of the World photo exhibition can be seen continuously on Eduard van Beinumstraat, next to Zuidplein. The exhibition shows images of street life in all 195 capitals of the world over a length of 230 meters. Photographer Jeroen Swols roamed the world for seven years for this mega project.
