From Monday, 3 November 2025 to Friday, 3 April 2026, the bicycle and pedestrian path on the east side of Parnassusweg will be closed. To make room for the work, we will remove all bicycle racks. Access (gates and stairs) to the train platforms of Amsterdam Zuid station from the east side of Parnassusweg will be (partially) closed at times.

Works
We are working on extending the train platforms at Amsterdam Zuid station, so that trains can stop at the new station passage in the future.

Disruptions to pedestrians:
The platform entrances on Parnassusweg will remain accessible to pedestrians alternately throughout the entire period; one platform entrance is always open, sometimes both. The northern entrance leads to train platform 2 (towards Schiphol Airport), the southern to train platform 1 (towards Utrecht, Almere, and Amersfoort). Advice: when only one entrance is open, it may be more convenient to travel directly via the passage (otherwise you have to walk approximately 200 meters across the train platform to the station passage to change platforms).

  • From 17 to 30 November 2025, only the northern platform entrance (platform 2) will be accessible, and only from the north side of the viaduct. This means that crossing under the viaduct from north to south and vice versa will not be possible.
  • From 1 December to 22 December 2025, only the northern platform entrance (platform 2) will be accessible from both the north and south sides of the viaduct. Crossing under the viaduct from north to south and vice versa will be possible via a narrowed footpath along the construction site.
  • From 23 December 2025 to 4 January 2026 (Christmas holidays), both platform entrances (platforms 1 and 2) will be accessible from both the north and south sides of the viaduct. Crossing under the viaduct from north to south and vice versa will be possible via a narrowed footpath along the construction site.
  • From 5 January to 2 February 2026, only the southern platform entrance (platform 1) will be accessible. Crossing under the viaduct from north to south and vice versa will be possible via a narrowed footpath along the construction site. From February 3, 2025, to April 4, 2026, both platform entrances (platforms 1 and 2) will be accessible, but due to cable and pipework, only from the south side of the viaduct. Passing under the viaduct from north to south or vice versa is not possible.

No hassle? Use the main entrance of Amsterdam Zuid station
From 3 November 2025, to 3 April 2026, the best way to enter and exit Amsterdam Zuid station is via the Minervapassage a little further on, with entrances at Zuidplein and Gustav Mahlerplein. From there, all platforms are easily accessible. There is also ample bicycle parking in the Zuidplein and Strawinsky bicycle parking facilities on the north side, and Mahlerplein on the south side.
