The refurbishment of Convict (part of the two municipal monuments Kapel & Convict) in Beatrixpark has almost been completed. From mid-2025, Convict will be put to use for a five-year period as accommodation for Ukrainian refugees. But before they can move into the former monastery, the building needs to be fitted out inside. Stichting Care4Good is organising collection days for (second-hand) items and is looking for people to help make the building feel like a home.

Donate items and help with outfitting

The charity is looking for small tables, tableware, kitchen equipment, household accessories, towels and bedding. The collection days will be on 21 May, 28 May and 6 June 2025. There is an inventory list on the Care4Good website to ensure that no unnecessary items are donated. The location of the collection and the relevant times are also listed on the website. From 19 May until the end of June 2025, volunteers will also be able to help with such jobs as carrying furniture, fitting cupboards, a range of household chores and outfitting. Everyone can choose what they would like to do. You can sign up via this link.

Kapel & Convict

The Kapel & Convict buildings are located in Beatrixpark in Amsterdam Zuidas. These buildings are municipal monuments and part of the former St. Nicolaaslyceum. Convict will first be used for the temporary accommodation of Ukrainian refugees before being redeveloped in the longer term. The Kapel has been designated for use as a cultural or social amenity.
