For his artwork at a 1970s exhibition, (graphic) artist Harry van Kruiningen depicted historical practices and judicial decisions from earlier times. Some pratices seem strange and cruel in our time, but some of the subjects are still current. The Nieuwe rechtbank (New Courthouse) is the ideal place to display these works. During this versatile music festival, there will be numerous performances, lectures and concerts at various locations in Amsterdam from Thursday 12 to Sunday 15 September. In the Thomas Church, Oorkaan Ensemble plays the family show Tempo: the musicians of Oorkaan fly through the space as game avatars, with music by Ravel, Beethoven and Vivaldi, among others. "The Distant Word" is an attempt by storyteller Sahand to keep his father’s stories alive, years after his revolutionary ideals extinguished.
