Liesbeth Schouten exhibition in new courthouse

The artist likes to take inspiration from the reflections in the glass of these modern office-building façades. She is a lover of expressive, narrative images, with a tangible friction between tradition and modernity, activity and calmness, chaos and structure.

Surprising angles

Schouten takes photos in Zuidas by searching for surprising angles and combining form and perspective to create a completely new cityscape all her own. ‘I seek out misleading perspectives and always paint my silhouette as an anchor in that architectural confusion. Where possible, I feature office plants in prominent positions, as a reminder not to forget nature.’

Court building open to the public

The exhibition is in the new courthouse, providing an excellent opportunity to view this wonderful building from the inside. The courthouse is open to the public from Monday to Friday, from 08.00 until 17.00. The paintings are exhibited on the second and third floors.
