New waste containers in Wielingenstraat

The waste containers in Wielingenstraat are being replaced and immediately repositioned. At the moment, there are three containers in two different locations, but these will be replaced by five containers next to each other, between Eendrachtstraat and Krammerstraat.

Where in Zuidas

The Zuid District Executive Committee decided this on 11 January 2022. This is a provisional decision. In other words, the plan could still change. Do you disagree with this decision? If so, you have from 26 January until 10 March 2022 to express your viewpoint in the form of an opinion (known as zienswijze in Dutch). You can email your opinion to contact@zuidas.nl, for the attention of Thomas Bokeloh, quoting ‘zienswijze ontwerpbesluit afvalcontainers Wielingenstraat’. Of course, you can also hand in your opinion at the City Office desk at President Kennedylaan 923, for the attention of the community engagement manager Thomas Bokeloh. We will look carefully at all opinions submitted. Where necessary and possible, we will make adjustments to the plan. After that, the Zuid District Executive Committee will make a definitive decision.

Planned 24-hour shelter in Kop Zuidas scrapped

Plans for Kop Zuidas to have a residential care centre for former homeless people on plot K will not go ahead. For the centre to be affordable, at least 30 housing units were needed. There is not sufficient space for that. The tender procedure for the plot will be in the second quarter of 2024.

2023: the year of shifting and digging

The broad contours of the second passageway at Amsterdam Zuid station became visible. The existing passageway was also renovated. Numerous construction projects were completed. We also put together a great summer party. All of that – and much more – was 2023 in Zuidas.
