180 more social rental homes to be built in Zuidas

The City of Amsterdam and the housing corporation Eigen Haard signed an agreement for the project on 19 December 2022. About half the homes will be independent living or collective living homes for seniors, and there will also be primary care or health centre facilities on the ground floor. The standard social rental homes will vary in size from 45 square metres for single persons to 90 square metres for families. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2024 and the first residents will move in by 2026.

Temporary design

The construction of these homes was announced at the beginning of 2021. Following the demolition of the building that previously stood on this site, we implemented a temporary design for the site until construction work begins.

Mixed urban district

A lot of construction work in Zuidas will be going on in the years to come. Between now and 2030, more offices will be added, as well as another 10,000 homes in all price brackets. Due to the rising number of social, cultural and commercial facilities in the area, Zuidas is becoming an increasingly lively neighbourhood that is appealing to ever more people in Amsterdam.
