The construction of five new artificial grass pitches and a new club building for the Amsterdamsche Football Club (AFC) at the Goed Genoeg sports park in Zuidas is in full swing.
The construction work will be phased so that football can continued to be played as usual during the project. The new sports park will have five new artificial grass pitches. Incidentally, the site is not owned and managed by the AFC but by the city council. The AFC is the primary tenant. A number of local schools will also be able to access the sports park, and children from the surrounding residential area (which has not yet been built) will also be able to kick a ball around. The new club building is currently under construction and will be ready by mid-2020.
Contractors and design
HSB Bouw is responsible for building the clubhouse and the stands around the new main pitch. Sallandse United is responsible for laying the pitches and all associated logistics. You can read more about the design in the article, ‘Designing a sports park where everyone feels at home’.
