The Nieuwe Meersluis will be closed to shipping. The footpath and cycle path over the southern lock gate will also be closed. The crossing over the northern lock gate will remain available.
The closure of the shipping route is necessary to be able to lift out the southern lock gate of the Nieuwe Meersluis. We are going to make adjustments to the construction in which the lock gate rolls when it is opened. At the same time, we are adjusting the pillars and guide rails that protect the bridges against collisions.
