Register for this live spectacle (in Dutch)
The girders are 30 m in length and each weighs as much as seven adult elephants: between 36 and 45 tonnes. The concrete girders that we will be lifting into position at the De Nieuwe Meer junction on 13 December 2025 are absolutely huge. And they need to be, because they will soon be supporting the road surface for the new flyover connecting the A10 Zuid to the A4 (in the direction of Schiphol/Den Haag). Lifting them into position will be quite a spectacle, and we will be closing part of the A10 from 12 to 15 December 2025 in order to do it. From Joy Jaagpad Tennis club, we will have a full view of the works, and we plan to take advantage of it. Will you also be there?
Experience it for yourself
We will be pleased to welcome you at Joy Jaagpad tennis club to experience the lifting operation at close hand. At 11:00 and 12:00, experts from Zuidasdok and the TriAX construction consortium (Besix, Dura Vermeer and Heijmans) will be standing by to explain the works and answer any of your questions. We will be serving hot chocolate and snacks – all you need to do is register in advance.
Programme:
- Date: Saturday, 13 December 2025
- Where: Joy Jaagpad Tennis Club, Jaagpad 48, 1059 BP Amsterdam
- Times: 11:00 en 12:00 am

- You will remain clean and dry and do not need protective clothing. In the event of bad weather, we will relocate to the canteen, where the operation can also be seen clearly.
- We recommend coming by bike. If you come by car, parking on the Jaagpad will not be possible due to the transport of the concrete beams. Paid parking is available nearby, around Helicopterstraat/Vliegtuigstraat.
Flyover en widening of the A10 Zuid
The flyover is part of the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer junction that is needed in order to widen the A10 Zuid by adding two extra lanes for local traffic. In the future, traffic leaving the city will either use the S108/Amstelveenseweg or the S109/Europaboulevard toward the new parallel lane and will then be able to use the new flyover from the De Nieuwe Meer junction to reach the A4 Schiphol/Rotterdam.
