A quick introduction: ZuidPlus, the consortium that will be building Zuidasdok

Zuidasdok was awarded to the ZuidPlus construction consortium at the beginning of this year. At peak periods, the company has a workforce of around 1000 to 1500 employees. But a great deal of work is being done, even at this stage, says Christine Davidse, the company’s Area Manager.

New offices

ZuidPlus is still a young company. Currently based in Amstelveen, it is looking for new offices big enough to accommodate its growing workforce. Christine points out that ‘Before we won this contract, the company had just fifteen employees. We’re now up to two hundred and fifty, and another hundred will be added next year.’ Soon, the new offices will also house the Zuidasdok project team, the client for this project. The work is scheduled for completion in 2028.

No strangers

The three construction companies that make up the ZuidPlus consortium are no strangers to Amsterdam: Heijmans and Fluor are working on the renewal of the A9 motorway at Holendrecht–Diemen (Gaasperdammerweg) and HOCHTIEF is working on the A1/A6 at Diemen–Almere (Havendreef).
