Strawinskyhuis to have thermal storage heating system installed

The installation of thermal energy storage systems in Zuidas continues. This time, it is at the Strawinskyhuis in Prinses Irenebuurt. The work starts on Monday, 24 October and will last until no later than Thursday, 15 December. In order to keep noise nuisance to a minimum, we will be working during the day from 07.00 until 18.00. Traffic controllers will also be on hand to guide transport traffic (outside peak periods).

Delivery of materials and vibration drilling

On Monday, 24 October and Tuesday, 25 October, a protective tube and a mobile crane will be delivered to the construction site in Prinses Irenestraat. Traffic controllers will be on hand to guide the trucks and half of Beethovenstraat will be very temporarily closed to traffic. On these two days, you can expect the most noise nuisance between 08.00 and 18.00, when the protective tube for the thermal energy storage well will be inserted by means of vibration drilling. This process is expected to last for five hours.

Drilling the well

The well itself will be drilled between Wednesday, 26 October and Wednesday, 16 November. This work will be done during the day only between 07:00 and 18:00. A vibration-free technique will be used, ensuring noise is reduced to a minimum. There may also be minor noise caused by the pumps and power generators used for drilling. As far as possible, smaller materials will be delivered via Strawinskylaan which has already been closed, alongside the embankment where the buses and trams stop.

Delivery of smaller materials via Strawinskylaan

Finishing work

From Thursday, 17 November until Thursday, 15 December, the work on the thermal energy storage systems at the Strawinskyhuis will be completed. The well will be rinsed clean in preparation for use, which may also cause some minor noise nuisance. Outside peak periods, some materials will also be delivered via Prinses Irenestraat.
