Zuidas and Zuidasdok market brings in the crowds

This was the first time that our Information Centre has hosted a market that has allowed all of the developments in the neighbourhood to be examined and discussed, and there was obviously a lot of interest in the regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station and the widening and tunnelling of the A10 Zuid. The ‘stallholders’ were specialists who tried their best to answer everyone’s questions in an informal manner. Fortunately, the Zuid district was also represented, so there were not too many instances when we had to refer people elsewhere.

Main attractions

The main attractions were the huge model of the Zuidas area and the Amsterdam Zuid station animation, which offers everyone an opportunity to take a stroll through the future station.

Visit to Brittenpassage

In the afternoon, a limited group of people who had signed up early had the opportunity to visit the second station passageway currently under construction, the Brittenpassage.

Animated discussion

The evening programme culminated in a presentation by our information officer Gijs, who briefed those attending on the history, present and future of the area. This led to an animated discussion with and between the attendees.

Next market

We felt that the market deserves to be repeated. We are not yet sure when this will be happening. The same applies to visits to the Brittenpassage. Keep a close eye on this website for details.
