RAI Amsterdam and the City of Amsterdam are set to join forces in the years ahead to develop the site around the acclaimed convention centre. The aim is to create space for housing, amenities and green areas. In November 2024, RAI asked local residents and other interested parties to come up with ideas on the development of the RAI site. The appeal proved successful, with the online questionnaire being completed 1,400 times.
Online information meeting
In order to inform you about the initial insights from this survey, RAI would like to invite you to an online information meeting from 19.00 until 21.00 on Tuesday, 25 February 2025. You can register until 23 February using this link. Everyone who registers will be sent an email link to the meeting on 24 February. During the meeting, you can use the chat function to ask questions about the subjects raised.
Launch agreement
Since the 1960s, the RAI complex in Europaplein has been organising trade shows and conferences, forging connections between the different industries. In order to move with the times, RAI now intends to undergo a thorough modernisation and sustainability upgrade. On 24 October 2024, RAI and the City of Amsterdam came together to sign what is referred to as a launch agreement. This indicates how the planning for the redevelopment will proceed and who will be responsible for what.
