The closures will affect traffic on the A4 heading towards Amsterdam from the direction of Haarlem, Schiphol or Amstelveen. The Amsterdam-Sloten access road (and exit) in the direction of the A4 Amsterdam/Zaanstad will also be closed. This closure is necessary in order to enable work to be done on the reconstruction of the De Nieuwe Meer junction.

Closures on 14-17 and 21-24 March

Closed:

  • A4 in the direction of Amsterdam/Zaanstad from the Badhoevedorp junction
  • Amsterdam-Sloten access road (and exit) in the direction of the A4 Amsterdam
  • Connecting road from the A9 from Haarlem in the direction of the A4 to Amsterdam
  • Connecting road from the A9 from Amstelveen in the direction of the A4 to Amsterdam

Please note: there could be delays of up to one hour

Traffic restrictions:

For the works on Amsterdam Zuid station, we will be closing two lanes on the A10 Zuid in the weekend of 14 to 17 March. Traffic coming from the A10 West will use the remaining lanes to travel in the direction of the A1 Hengelo/A2 Utrecht.

Open:

  • A4 in the direction of Schiphol/Rotterdam
  • A9 Alkmaar/Haarlem in the direction of Almere/Utrecht/Amstelveen
  • A10 in all directions

Diversions in the direction of Amsterdam Zuid/Almere:

  • Traffic on the A4/A9 will travel via the (A9/)A5
  • Traffic on the A5 will use exit 3: follow the diversion signs
  • Traffic on the A1 and A2 will travel via the (A10-Oost and) A10-Noord
  • Traffic from Amsterdam-Zuid will travel via the A10-Oost and A10-Noord

Omleidingsroute richting Amsterdam Zuid/Almere:

  • Via the A9, A2 and A10 Zuid

We expect these road closures to cause major traffic disruption on the roads in and around Amsterdam and especially on roads in the direction of Badhoevedorp and Nieuw-West. You are advised to use public transport. If that is not possible, check your route in advance via TomTom Go, Waze or Apple Maps.
