From Monday, 1 September until Friday, 12 September, Skûtsjespad will be closed from Amstelveenseweg in the direction of Jachthavenweg. The weekend of 6-7 September is an exception, when Skûtsjespad will be open in both directions. Piet Kranenbergpad will be closed during this weekend and the weekend after. Pedestrians and cyclists can make use of Amstelveenseweg.

Diversion

There will be yellow signposts to redirect cyclists and motorised traffic via Pramenpad. Pedestrians will be guided past the work. Buses can continue to use the bus lane to Skûtsjespad.

Extra construction traffic entrance

There is very little space to add the two lanes to the A10 Zuid. In fact, space is so limited that we cannot build them next to the embankment, but have to do it where the embankment is located. We have dug this up in advance and created a piled embankment: lots of foundation piles on which we will build the extra lanes. There is only one way that the vehicles needed during the work can access the construction site: via Piet Kranenbergpad. On the east side – the Amstelveenseweg side – we have started inserting piles into the ground and are working our way towards Piet Kranenbergpad. Currently, we are working slightly further west, but the limited space means that we cannot continue to raise the height of the section where the piled embankment is already completed. It is not possible for trucks to get past the pile-driving equipment. To avoid having to wait, we are now creating an additional entrance and exit for construction traffic. This will make it possible both to continue the work on the piled embankment and get started with our work raising the height on the Amstelveenseweg side.

Excavation

But before we start to raise the height, we first need to remove a lot of soil. The foundation piles were inserted deep into the ground and the tops of them need to be excavated in order to add the pile covers and continue to raise the level of the piled embankment. This excavation work will be done in the weekends of 6-7 September and 13-14 September. The soil removed will be transported away via the existing construction site entrance in Skûtsjespad next to Piet Kranenbergpad. During these weekends, Skûtsjespad will be open and Piet Kranenbergpad closed.

November: extra entrance removed

By the end of November, this work will have been completed and we will remove the extra construction site entrance. This will also take one or two weeks: the work is currently scheduled for 24 November until 5 December. During this period, Skûtsjespad will again be closed from Amstelveenseweg in the direction of Jachthavenweg.
