The two gateways will form the entrance and exit of two construction routes. These have been set up to take as much pressure as possible off the public road during our construction works on the Schinkelbrug bridge and the widening of the A10 Zuid. The process of creating the gateways will last from Monday, 16 February until Sunday, 8 March. We will be working every day from 07.00 to 16.00 and from 21.00 to 05.00. Pedestrians and cyclists will face the most disruption.

Works and disruption 16 February – 2 March

During the week of Monday, 16 February, we will be doing the preparatory works. In the week of Monday, 23 February we will create the gateways and carry out road-surfacing works for the two construction routes. The construction route from the A10 Zuid to Jachthavenweg next to the Infinity building will ultimately be the permanent bus exit leading to Amstelveenseweg. The gateway next to Tripolis is temporary: in the future, the S108 access road in the direction of the A4 and the A10 West will be here. Next to the construction gateways, we will be positioning traffic lights to enable pedestrians and cyclists to pass by safely.

  • Pedestrians and cyclists
Cyclists will be directed past the work during the day. From 21.00 until 05.00 the next morning, they will take an alternative route via the other side (east side) of Amstelveenseweg or via Piet Kranenbergpad. Throughout the whole day, cyclists will take a diversion using one of the two alternative routes.
  • Bus and tram
Buses will be always able to travel past the works without a problem and the bus station will therefore remain in use. The works next to the tram line will be carried out when the tram is out of service, which means the trams will also always have access.
  • Accessibility at the metro station
During the day, it will be possible to access the metro station via both entrances in Amstelveenseweg (east and west). From 21.00 until 05.00, access will be limited on the west side and we therefore advise passengers to use the entrance on the east side.

Night works and disruption Friday, 6 March

The construction route alongside Tripolis will only be accessible from the S108/Amsterdam Oud-Zuid exit (inner ring). We will add additional road markings next to the exit. We will also be adjusting the traffic lights. This work will be done in the night of Friday, 6 March. The S108/Amsterdam Oud-Zuid access road and exit (inner ring) will then be closed from 23.00 until 07.00. Traffic controllers will be on hand to divert traffic in Amstelveenseweg past the works.

  • From A10 Zuid to Amstelveenseweg
Traffic arriving from the direction of the A2 Utrecht, wishing to turn off the A10 Zuid into Amstelveenseweg, will be diverted via the S107 Henk Sneevlietweg.
  • From Amstelveenseweg to A4 and A10 West
Traffic from Amstelveenseweg heading to the A4 Schiphol and the A10 West will be diverted via the S109 Europaboulevard.
  • Pedestrians, cyclists, trams and buses
    No disruption.
