During this weekend, we will be adjusting the signalling system (train safety systems). This is necessary to ensure that, from Monday, 2 March onwards, trains can stop and depart approximately 100 metres further west (towards Parnassusweg). We are also taking this opportunity to carry out work on a future bicycle and pedestrian tunnel that will connect Antonio Vivaldistraat with Beatrixpark (the Vivaldipassage).

Why are we doing this?

The new passenger tunnel for Amsterdam Zuid station – the Brittenpassage – is scheduled to open by 2027. This passage is located approximately 200 metres further west than the existing passage. As a result, trains will stop and depart at a different position than they do now. Both railway platforms have already been extended beyond Parnassusweg.
