Strawinskyhuis

The Strawinskyhuis, Prinses Irenestraat 39-43, has been transformed into a new, state-of-the-art office building. The work started in July 2021. On 8 January 2024, the law firm DLA Piper took over the use of the building. Principal contractor du Prie bouw & ontwikkeling b.v. was responsible for coordinating and realising this large-scale renovation. Du Prie was commissioned by Strawinskyhuis B.V., an alliance between FLOW and Egeria Real Estate Development.

Thorough refurbishment

The original Strawinskyhuis dates back to the 1970s and was in need of thorough refurbishment. The contractor completely stripped the building. The building has been given a completely new façade. The design by architects’ firm ZZDP has created a state-of-the-art office building featuring flexible and transparent office floors, spread across four layers. The new building has also been given a patio and an atrium and the adjoining two-storey car park has been renovated.

Sustainability

The new office building complies with the latest sustainability standards. This includes the use of sustainable materials and solar panels and a thermal energy storage system using a heat pump. The office building has BREEAM Excellent certification.

Specifications

  • Gross floor area: 10,587 sq. m
  • Office space: 6,141 sq. m.
  • Conference facilities: 1,681 sq. m.
  • Underground car park: 1,004 sq. m
  • Underground bicycle parking facility: 137 sq. m.

The building was completed and taken into use in January 2023. Until the start of March 2024, work will continue on the relandscaping of the public space around the building.
