From Monday morning, 20 July, 05.00 to Monday night, 17 August 2026, 01.00 o’clock, Beethovenstraat will be completely closed to car traffic. The closed section of te Beethovenstraat is between Christian Neefestraat on the north side of the A10 and The Valley building on the south side of the A10.
Gustav Mahlerlaan will remain accessible during this period. In Beethovenstraat, the traffic lights at both De Boelelaan and Mahlerlaan are out of service; traffic controllers are stationed there.
Diversion
- Traffic will be diverted via De Boelelaan and Parnassusweg.
- Buses will be diverted via Strawinskylaan and Parnassusweg.
- Cyclists and pedestrians will be granted passage via either the west or the east side of Beethovenstraat.
- Spoorslag (alongside football club AFC) is open to pedestrians only up to Sunday, 26 July. After that, Ravellaan on the other side of the football club is open to all traffic.
Work
We are carrying out preparatory work for the construction of the A10 tunnel. We are clearing the subsoil of cables and pipes and laying a pipe (culvert) in Beethovenstraat that connects the water on both sides.
June, July, August 2026: closure of Parnassusweg
We alternate the above-mentioned works with work on a new metro viaduct on Parnassusweg. During this time, Beethovenstraat serves as the diversion route – when one is closed, the other is open.
