This involves a public selection procedure (tender) for the development of approximately 25 private-sector homes on what is known as plot 2E (see the illustration below). In a building of up to seven floors, there will be apartments covering at least 70 sq. m. of usable floor area. Space has been set aside for hospitality/catering on the ground floor. The period for submitting tenders ends on Friday, 19 January 2024.

Selection procedure for plot 2E in Kenniskwartier

In the public selection procedure, we are challenging market players to develop a residential building with a focus on spatial quality and sustainability. All of the relevant documents can be consulted on TenderNed, including the spatial preconditions and ambitions. The selection process will be done in a single round. The contract is expected to be awarded in early March 2024. Construction work is scheduled to begin in the spring of 2026.

Vibrant Kenniskwartier

The developments in the northern section of Kenniskwartier set the tone for the vibrant neighbourhood that is emerging in this part of Zuidas. On the plot next to plot 2E, the development of the multifunctional complex The Pulse of Amsterdam and the residential tower with first-time apartments Stepstone is in full swing. In addition to housing and offices, there will also be a cinema, a supermarket and various hospitality/catering outlets. The neighbourhood is just a stone’s throw away from Amsterdam Zuid station and the A10 Zuid.
