The information meeting held at the Witte Huis in IJsbaanpad on 15 April was specifically about the major summer works that are set to last until September 2025. The works are needed to enable the widening of the A10 Zuid. We will be closing the A10 Zuid for a 16-day period and this will be followed by the closure of Amstelveenseweg for more than five weeks next to the A10 Zuid. At the meeting, we gave detailed presentations about these closures and there was an opportunity to ask all kinds of questions.
Almost 200 people attended, what questions did they ask?
The meeting attracted some 200 people, spread across the afternoon and evening. We have compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions.
- Where will the noise barriers on the south side of the A4/A10 Zuid be?
There will be noise barriers next to Piet Kranenbergpad and Amstelveenseweg. From more information, read the article we published about this.
- Why will there be a flyover next to Joy tennis club?
Road users exiting the city will use the S108 and S109 access roads to reach the carriageway for local traffic (the parallel carriageway). They will be able to use the flyover to travel in the direction of the A4 Schiphol/Rotterdam. The flyover will start at Joy tennis club (in Jaagpad), run across the carriageways leading from and to the A10 West and connect to the A4.
- What will and will not be open during the five-week closure of Amstelveenseweg next to the A10 Zuid?
During this period, Amstelveenseweg will be closed to through-traffic in both directions underneath the A10 Zuid. The footpath and cycle path will be closed on the east side. It will not be possible to park your bike on the east side (bikes will be removed). There will be no access to the metro entrance on the east side. Tram 24 will not be running from 12 until 19 July.
The footpath and cycle path will remain accessible on the west side of Amstelveenseweg. It will still be possible to park your bike there. The metro entrance will remain accessible via the west side. After 19 July, tram 24 will resume its usual route.
- When one cycle path closes, will the other one stay open?
Yes, we aim to ensure that the diversion route for cyclists is kept as short as possible. This means that if Piet Kranenbergpad is closed, the cycle path on Amstelveenseweg will remain open.
- What route will bus 346 take in the future?
The route will remain the same. Because the crossing is changing at Amstelveenseweg, the bus stops will be relocated. However, they will still be close to Amstelveenseweg metro station. During the works on Amstelveenseweg, buses will drive past the work.
- Will all of the bus stops be staying?
As things stand, none of the bus stops will be removed. However, stops will be relocated temporarily to enable the works and guarantee passenger safety.
When will the A10 Zuid be closed in the summer of 2025?
- During Ascension weekend, from 22.00 on 28 May until 5.00 on 2 June, two lanes will be closed on the A10 Zuid in the direction of A1 Hengelo and A2 Utrecht. From the A4 and A10 Zuid, it will also not be possible to access the A10 West in the direction of Zaanstad. You can expect journey times to increase by 30-60 minutes. From 01.00 on Thursday, 29 May until 05.00 on Monday, 2 June 2025, there will also be no trains running at Amsterdam Zuid station.
- From 22.00 on 6 June until 10 June, the road connecting the A10 Zuid to the A10 West will be closed because of sheet-pile works on the A10 West. You can expect journey times to increase by 10-30 minutes.
- From 22.00 on 13 June until 05.00 on 16 June, the A4 and A10 Zuid will be closed all the way up to the Amstel junction. The S109 access road in the direction of the A10 Oost and A2 will also be closed.
- From 26 June until 12 July, the A10 Zuid will also be closed in the direction of the A1 Hengelo/A2 Utrecht for a 16-day period. There will also be a reduced railway service at Amsterdam Zuid station.
