At the end of 2025, the office building The CubeHouse is due to be completed on the corner of Parnassusweg and Claude Debussylaan. We are therefore making this section of Parnassusweg ready for residential use. This involves working on the public space (part of which is currently still a construction site). In the period up to the end of February 2026, we will be installing cables and pipelines and putting the pavement and cycle path back in place. In the same area at the same time, we are working on the large-scale regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station, focusing on the entrances to the platforms in Parnassusweg. For both projects, slow-moving traffic is being diverted via the west side. You may also notice some disruption in Claude Debussylaan and Gustav Mahlerlaan.

Diversion for cyclists and pedestrians

Most of the disruption will be in Parnassusweg. On the east side (the station side), it will be closed to cyclists and pedestrians. You already have a diversion there because of works at Amsterdam Zuid station. Throughout the entire period, the railway platform will remain accessible to pedestrians, and at least one entrance in Parnassusweg will be open for that purpose. Parnassusweg will be open to motorised traffic as normal during this time (with the exception of the spring holiday, when there will be works on the tram stop). There will also be no disruption to trams.

3-14 November 2025

Car drivers will not be able to access Parnassusweg from Gustav Mahlerlaan. We will be installing a turning circle here on the (northern) carriageway and putting diversion signs in place.

3 November 2025 – 1 December 2025

From 3 November until 1 December 2025, it will not be possible to access Parnassusweg from Claude Debussylaan, which will reach a temporary dead end here. However, it will still be possible to get to the restaurants in Claude Debussylaan. Pedestrians will be diverted via Benjamin Brittenstraat to Gustav Mahlerlaan. From 1 December 2025, it will again be possible for pedestrians to continue via Claude Debussylaan to Parnassusweg in the direction of VU.

The CubeHouse

On the De Boog plot, located on the corner of Parnassusweg and Claude Debussylaan, The CubeHouse is about to reach completion. This is the first hybrid wooden office building in Zuidas. The CubeHouse will be the head offices of BNP Paribas Nederland and Arcadis, who are developing the building together with G&S&. The CubeHouse will be completed at the end of 2025.

In October 2025, the tower cranes next to The CubeHouse have already been removed
