There is a total of € 550,000 available to be allocated for plans that will make the district more attractive, livelier and more fun. Residents, organisations and businesses from all neighbourhoods in the Zuid city district are welcome to submit their plans for 2026 – the deadline for submissions is Sunday, 30 November.
Do you have an idea, a question or a suggestion? If so, email it to buurtbudgetzuid@amsterdam.nl or call us on 06-27 61 63 18.
Five themes
The allocation of the neighbourhood budget will be based on five key themes:
- Plans for young people (€ 110,000);
- Plans for elderly people (€ 55,000);
- Social initiatives (€ 55,000);
- Plans for the public realm (€ 55,000) and;
- Plans that make the neighbourhood greener (€ 55,000).
Need inspiration? Take a look at the 31 plans submitted earlier this year for the Hemony- en Willibrordus neighbourhood (in Dutch). Sixteen of these have by now proved feasible.
Did you know that…
Zuid city district also has other grants available for neighbourhood improvements? For example, for local residents who want to provide the news about their neighbourhood themselves. Or perhaps you would prefer to do something on the social side and work on equal opportunites in health and livehood security? Funds have also been set aside for that.
These are just a few examples – you can find a full list of all the available grants on the City of Amsterdam website. But please note: some grants are no longer available and the submission deadline for next year has already passed for some others.
