Parnas
The Parnas neighbourhood , between Fred. Roeskestraat and Parnassusweg, already features a real eyecatcher in its New Courthouse (“Nieuwe Rechtbank”, completed in 2021). According to the current schedule, the Hartwig Museum is also set to join it in 2028. Until then, art lovers can get their fill at the Proxy temporary exhibition space. Art and culture are becoming increasingly prominent as Zuidas is transformed into a real Amsterdam city district.
There are also plans for the adjacent plots. For example, on plots C2/C3 there will be a building with housing and offices – the zoning plan for this was approved by the City Council in 2024.
Next to the New Courthouse, alongside the A10 Zuid, there is also plot F. There are long-term plans for an office building on this plot. However, we first intend to build a temporary sports hall here for a five-year period because of the great need in the city for physical education. The design has already been completed, but the pressure on the electricity grid has delayed the project. We cannot proceed with the development and application for a permit until we have a guarantee from the grid operator for the electricity supply.
With the arrival of the museum and the developments on plots C2/C3, the public space in front of these buildings will also change. We are currently working on a design that we will discuss with the local community.
