During this period, Zuidasdok will be working on the regeneration of Amsterdam Zuid station and the construction of the future Vivaldipassage. Heavy congestion is expected, particularly on the motorways and on urban roads in Amsterdam West. This could increase your journey time by up to one hour. Please plan your journey in advance.

No train services from 13-17 May
From Wednesday, 13 May to Sunday, 17 May 2026, no trains will run to or from Amsterdam Zuid station. Metro services will continue to operate. Please plan your journey using the NS journey planner and allow for additional travel time, transfers or alternative routes. From Monday, 18 May, trains will once again operate according to the normal timetable.

A10 Zuid towards A1 Hengelo / A2 Utrecht (outer ring road)

  • From Tuesday 12, May 22.00 to Thursday, 14 May 05.00, only one lane will be available during the night instead of the usual four lanes.
  • On Wednesday, 13 May, only two of the four lanes will be available during the day.
  • From Saturday, 16 May 22.00 to Monday, 18 May 05.00, only one lane will be available during the night instead of the usual four lanes.
  • On Sunday, 17 May, only two of the four lanes will be available during the day.

A4 at Badhoevedorp junction towards Amsterdam

The A4 in the direction of Amsterdam will be closed at Badhoevedorp junction for traffic coming from The Hague/Schiphol and Amstelveen between:

  • Tuesday, 12 May 22.00 and Thursday, 14 May 05.00
  • Saturday, 16 May 22.00 and Monday, 18 May 05.00

Open

  • A4 in the direction of Schiphol/Rotterdam
  • A4 In the direction of Amsterdam for traffic coming from Alkmaar and access road 1 Amsterdam–Sloten

Diversions

Through traffic in the direction of Amsterdam will be diverted via the A9, A2 and A5.

  • Work from home if possible.
  • Please allow for an additional travel time of 30 to 60 minutes.
  • Check your route before departure on TomTom Go, Waze or Apple Maps.
