11 July: residents’ evening on WTC masterplan

In Beethovenstraat, construction work is currently underway on Tower 10. However, CBRE IM also has other plans: upgrading the existing office towers between Zuidplein and Beethovenstraat. An information evening was already held for local residents in April 2021. There will be a follow-up meeting on Monday, 11 July 2022. Representatives from both the WTC owner CBRE IM and the City of Amsterdam will be on hand to explain the plans. There will also be an opportunity to discuss the details of future shops, hospitality outlets, public amenities, parking, shared transport, public terraces and roof gardens.

Master plan for updating WTC

Because of the effects of a pandemic and work on the Zuidasdok infrastructure project in the same densely built-up area, the plans have been reviewed and adjusted several times since 2019. In December 2021, CBRE IM announced that the refurbishment of towers A and C would be part of a wide-ranging masterplan study into upgrading the WTC. This study has now been completed. The basic principles remain unchanged: with this upgrade, CBRE IM is responding to the needs of users and the standards that tenants now expect from a modern office environment. For example, the building will be completely CO2 neutral.
